School Recycling
Program Responsibilities
Below are the responsibilities of all involved at the school level:
Principal
- granting permission to run the program at the school
- stressing awareness of program throughout the school population
Teachers
- two or three committed leaders to run the program with a group of students
- in-class education about recycling
- select students to monitor and collect recycling
Students
- Divide waste paper from classroom trash
- Collect paper from other classroom to be deposited
- Check for contamination
- Deposit classroom materials into centrally located receptacle
Facilities Manager
- Collect from larger bins
- Store in clear plastic bags
- Set out curbside on collection day
